All guides in Egypt are required to be licensed and have taken several years of training etc. to be able to obtain a license. So they are Egyptologist tour guide and they are free license and work on contract to several companies. Egyptologist are not necessary in the resort areas of Hurghada and Sharm, and we usually only provide tour leaders in big groups and agent services for individuals. You will find in most cases the guides will become close friends. And as a part of the culture, the guides will be tipped at the end of the trip as a kind of appreciation & to say thank you for what they have done. |
